President

Meagan Snyder, Deputy Chief Compliance Officer

River Road Asset Management, LLC (Louisville, KY)

Meagan serves as Deputy Chief Compliance Officer.  In this role, she is responsible for overseeing and managing the compliance and legal functions at the firm.  Additionally, Meagan serves as an adviser to the firm's Executive Committee on compliance and legal topics.  She also serves as a member of the firm’s Management Committee and participates in the firm’s Brokerage Allocation and Review Committee, Proxy Voting Policy Committee, and Pricing Committee.

Meagan joined River Road in 2007.  She earned her B.A. in English from the University of Kentucky and a JD from the Louis D. Brandeis School of Law at the University of Louisville and is a Kentucky licensed attorney.  River Road Asset Management has been an Advent client since 2005 and Meagan has experience with APX, Moxy, and Advent Rules Manager. Meagan has presented at the Chicago and National Member Meetings.

 


Vice President

Clare Retrum, Vice President of Operations, Chief Compliance Officer
C.W. Henderson & Associates (Chicago, IL)

Clare joined C. W. Henderson & Associates in 2001 as an associate working in the back office and client service. Currently, she manages the operations team and oversees the firm’s trading systems and processes, operational efficiencies, client service, and project implementations. She was named CCO in 2015.

Clare received her undergraduate degree from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in Economics and her Master of Business Administration from DePaul University, Chicago, Illinois in Finance and Entrepreneurship.

Clare has used Advent systems since 2001 and has experience with Axys, Moxy, ACD/REX and DTCC. She has been a member of AUG since 2008 and was a member of the Axys sub-committee 2011-2015. Clare has presented at AUG regional meetings, the Advent Conference, and on AUG webinars.

 


Secretary

Aimee Hauff, Director of Investment Operations
Cornerstone Advisors, Inc. (Bellevue, WA)

Aimee joined Cornerstone Advisors in 2006 to set up the firm’s infrastructure and processes for the back-office: operations, trading, and fund administration. Today, the back-office has grown to five people with two sub-departments: Investment Operations – which focuses on all operations and trading related to client publicly traded investments; and Fund Administration – which focuses on operations of client Private Equity and Real Estate investments. Aimee oversees the management of the Investment Operations team and works closely with the outsource firm that handles the fund administration of the Cornerstone 40Act Mutual Fund family.

Aimee has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Education for Math/English from Eastern Washington University. She served on the National Investment Company Service Association and the Charles Schwab Technology Operations and Service Advisory Board.

She has been a member of AUG for 18 years at three different firms, starting off attending user meetings, then hosting regional meetings, and eventually becoming the point person to organize/set-up the Seattle area member meetings. Aimee has served on AUG’s APX focus group and the Branding Value Proposition, Membership Services, and Relationship committees. She has been an AUG board member since 2014 and has worked with Advent products: Axys, APX, REX, ACD, Advent Partner for 18 years.

 


Treasurer

Jason Abelowitz, Chief Operations Officer 
Family Office (Boston, MA)

Jason is the COO of a single-family office in Boston.  Prior to this position he was the CFO & CCO of Colrain Capital LLC (formerly Mayo Investment Advisers, LLC).  He joined the firm in 2009 as the Director of Operations.  Jason was the Head of Operations of Lantern Lane Capital, a startup hedge fund from 2006 to 2009.  Prior to the startup, Jason worked as an equity trader and in operations at GMO in Boston.

Jason graduated from Babson College with his MBA.  He attended the University of New Hampshire where he received his Bachelors of Science in Political Science and dual minors in Business and Economics.  

Jason migrated Colrain Capital to Advent in 2010 and he joined AUG, the Exchange in 2011.  Jason has presented at the numerous member meeting and has moderated events.  Jason is also a board member and the Co-Chair at the Concord Children’s Center, a nonprofit school. 

 


Chairman
John Stiles, Principal, Director of Operations
Birch Hill Investment Advisors, LLC (Boston, MA)


John joined Birch Hill at its founding in 2007 to set up the firm’s systems infrastructure and processes related to technology, operations, portfolio administration, and trading. He continues to oversee each area with additional responsibilities related to management and compliance. Prior to joining Birch Hill, John was a Research Associate and Trader at Seaward Management and began his career at Eaton Vance Management.

John graduated from Northeastern University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance. He received his Masters of Science in Investment Management from Boston University. John is a member of the Boston Securities Traders Association, the National Society of Compliance Professionals, and is an active volunteer in his alumni organizations. John is a Director and the Treasurer of Camp Fire Eastern Massachusetts.

John has used Advent systems and been a member of AUG for 15 years. He has experience with APX, Axys, Qube, ACD, Moxy, DTCC, ACA, and Revenue Center. John has held the President, Vice President and Secretary positions for AUG, and has been on the board for 5 years. He has chaired numerous committees and regularly presents and moderates at AUG events.

 


Mark Parker, Principal 
MMHP Investment Advisors (Thomasville, GA) 

Mark is a principal and a member of MMHP Investment Advisors Investment Committee. Prior to MMHP, he was the principal of Parkway Wealth Management, LLC (PWC), an investment advisor registered with the SEC. Before PWM, Mark was the Chief Investment Officer at TNB Financial Services, the trust division of Thomasville National Bank. For 15 years prior to TNB, Mark was Chief Investment Officer and CEO at Joseph Parker and Company, Inc., an investment advisory firm with managed assets of $240 million. The company merged with TNB in 2002. He has been in the investment business since 1987. 

Mark graduated cum laude from the University of Georgia with a Bachelor of Business Administration in finance. He holds a Series 65 license – Uniform Investment Advisor Law Examination. 

From 2002 to 2008, Mark served as an AUG board member. He has spoken or been a panelist at several Advent conferences. From 2009-2015, he acted as an appointed board member of AUG as the Assistant Treasurer.

Michelle McDonough, Managing Partner
Trillium Asset Management (Boston, MA) 


Michelle joined Trillium Asset Management as a consultant in 2010 to upgrade the firm’s systems infrastructure and processes related to compliance, technology, operations, portfolio administration, and trading. She has since joined the firm full time as a partner responsible for management of all non-investment functions. Prior to joining Trillium, Michelle was the Chief Operating Officer at Winslow Management Company which was acquired by Brown Advisory in 2009. While at Winslow/Brown, she worked on the operations and technology integration of the two firms.

Michelle graduated from Salem State College with a Bachelor of Science degree in Management. Michelle is on the Board of Ambassadors for the Home for Little Wanderers. 

Michelle has used Advent systems and been a member of AUG for 16 years. She has experience with APX, Axys, ACD, Moxy, DTCC and ACA. Michelle is in her third year on the board of AUG. She has previously served as chair of the Marketing Committee and has sat on the Compliance Committee.

 

Christopher Bowen, Partner, Director of Operations & IT
Zeke Capital Advisors, LLC (Berwyn, PA)


Prior to joining Zeke Capital Advisors, Chris filled the Chief Compliance Officer and Head of Operations roles at New Amsterdam Partners LLC.  He has also served as an Account Officer with the Bank of New York (now BNY/Mellon) and as an Account Administrator at Chase Manhattan Bank (now JPMorgan Chase). 

Chris received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Bucknell University and a Master of Business Administration from Fordham University. He is a member of Beta Gamma Sigma (BGS) and Omicron Delta Epsilon (ODE). 

A member of AUG since 2004, Chris has served the membership as a board member from 2007, including as Treasurer from 2009-2012. He has written articles for the AUG newsletter, presented at regional meetings, and participated on Advent conference panels on an array of topics ranging from upgrades and automation to settlements and disaster recovery. Now a Black Diamond user, Chris is also familiar with Axys, Moxy, DataExchange, Dataport, REX, and the DTCC Interface.

 


Heather Sevillano Director, Chief Operating Officer
Greenwich Investment Management (Stamford, CT)

Heather joined Greenwich Investment Management at the inception of the firm 10 years ago. When Heather joined Greenwich Investment Management, her role was as Portfolio Administrator responsible for handling client servicing and administrative requests. Throughout her tenure her role has changed to overseeing the technology, operations and client administration. Heather is an active member of the Investment Advisor Association and was a member of the TD Ameritrade Operations Panel from 2010 to 2013.

Heather graduated from Bentley University in 2000 with a Bachelor of Science of Finance and a minor in Spanish. She and her family have volunteered for Special Olympics in their community as track and field coaches.

Since 2006, Greenwich Investment Management has been an Advent client and an active member of AUG. Heather has experience with Axys, Moxy, DTCC, Dataport, and ACD. She is in her first term as an AUG board member and has presented at AdventConnect, several regional meetings, and webinars on the topics of technology and new solutions.

 


Jason Guthrie, Director of Operations

Franklin Street Advisors (Chapel Hill, NC)

 

Jason is the Director of Operations of Franklin Street Advisors. Jason joined Franklin Street Advisors in 2007 as Operations Manager for the Hedge Fund of Funds team. Jason has also worked for Advent Software, Inc., a leading portfolio management software company, where he worked as a consultant, trainer, and also managed a team of consultants. Jason began his career at Schwab Performance Technologies, Inc. He received his MBA from North Carolina State University and his undergraduate degree in Mathematics from Campbell University.

 

Franklin Street Advisors has been a longstanding member of The Exchange.  In recent years, Jason has participated in several regional meetings, the National Members Meeting and has also been a part of the GIPS Focus Group calls.

 

If elected, he will work to continue to make The Exchange a valuable networking organization and resource that members want to be a part of in order to learn, collaborate and grow.




Jennifer Kelley, Chief Compliance/Operations Officer      

Zevin Asset Management (Boston, MA) 

 

Zevin Asset Management, LLC is an SRI global investment management firm, rooted in the idea of avoiding major losses rather than seeking big gains. The securities we manage are screened for a wide range of social criteria and voted on in a conscientious way.  Personal client service is a priority to our firm.  Shareholder activism includes initiating company dialogues and co-filing shareholder resolutions on behalf of our clients.

 

Jennifer joined the firm in 2000, with two employees and 35 clients, responsible for all aspects of client service and operations.  Since that time, she has helped the company grow to 11 employees and over 250 clients.  This has been achieved through outstanding customer service, a company culture in which employees can grow and thrive, and thoughtful management of goals and direction.  Jennifer is now the Chief Compliance Officer for the firm, solely responsible for all aspects of the compliance program.  and the Chief Operations Officer, supervising the operations and client service team.  Her duties also include serving on the Board of Managers, human resources for the firm and day to day office management.

 

Jennifer graduated from Salem State University with her MBA.  She attended St. Anselm College, earning a Bachelor of Arts in Computer Science with Business.  She is a candidate for the IACCP.

Jennifer implemented Advent programs for her firm in 2006, and the firm joined the Exchange in 2012.  Before her 2 sons graduated from High School, she was very active in the town and school athletics boosters and education groups.  She is currently enjoying her empty nest with camping, boating and skiing.

 

The Exchange has been an invaluable resource for me.  The ability to network with peers to share ideas and knowledge has helped me more than any other group I have come across.  I would like to join the board in order to continue this opportunity for others in the industry.


Bob Stiess, Director of Information Systems

Wasmer, Schroeder & Company (Naples, FL)

 

Bob Stiess is the Director of Information Systems and is responsible for the oversight of IT, cybersecurity, trade settlement, custodial reconciliation, and data management for Wasmer, Schroeder & Company (WSC).

 

Bob partners with leaders across WSC to ensure the alignment of business and technology strategies. He evaluates, implements, integrates and maintains technologies to support the Firm. Mr. Stiess has grown our application portfolio to include an integrated suite of portfolio accounting, reporting, billing, performance, and analytical solutions combined with ancillary systems for client management and corporate accounting.

 

Bob joined WSC in 2008 after earning his B.S. in Finance with a minor in Entrepreneurship from the University of Florida. He previously volunteered for the Lighthouse of Collier, Center for Blindness and Vision Loss, and is a 2009 graduate of Leadership Collier GAIN. Bob is a member of the Firm’s Executive Committee.

 


Senior Advisor to the Board (Appointed)

Ann Massey, RP®, Associate, Director of Operations
Plante Moran Financial Advisors (Portage, MI)

Ann joined Plante Moran in 1996 in the back office operations area with focus on data and system management, portfolio administration and reporting, and custodial support and client service. In 2002, she transitioned to supervising the back office operations area and oversees the data management, client service, portfolio accounting teams as well as the trade team and technology administration support team. She is involved in budgeting, project management, recruiting, training, staff performance management and compliance related matters. Prior to joining Plante Moran, Ann worked in the investment department at a large insurance company.

Ann earned the Registered ParaplannerSM designation from the College of Financial Planning in 2005, has a certification in supervisory management, and studied business and finance at Kalamazoo Valley Community College and Lansing Community College.

Ann has been a member of AUG for 12 years. She served as Vice President of AUG in 2008, President in 2009 and as the Senior Advisor for the Board since 2014. She has participated in numerous AUG events, presented on several panels, attended Advent Connect for many years and attended various other industry conferences.

She has been working with Advent solutions and services for 20 years and has experience with Advent’s Axys, APX, ACD, and ACA products as well as Advent’s professional services. Ann has experience with several other service providers and resources within the industry. She also served on the Schwab Technology Operations and Advisory Board from 2009 to 2012.
